Boulard was founded in 1825 by Pierre-Auguste Boulard and passed on from generation to generation. All Boulard products bear the designation of origin "Pays d'Eye A.C.". This means that the cider can only be obtained from apples in the region. In a double distillation process then the fine Calvados originates with the designation of origin Pays d'Eye A.C.
