The story of Henkell Freixenet begins with Adam Henkell in 1832: Pioneering spirit, discoverer and man of pleasure. First, he founded a wine shop in Mainz, then he created Henkell Trocken in 1856 – and laid the cornerstone for the company. A few years later, Freixenet Cava Winery was established in the north of Spain, and it has since developed into the world's leading supplier of the finest cava.
