Already in 1938, the two traditional families Ferrer de Morais and Cândido Carneiro in northeastern Brazil started together with the production of the high-quality distillate from sugar cane. Already after the first tasting, the families realized that the drink has a great future.
The harvested green sugar cane is crushed, chopped and mashed. The mash is distilled, the fire has a high alcohol content. With this alcohol content the typical tart sugarcane taste remains full-bodied. Its unique "varietal", fruity and dry taste is a superior quality criterion of PITÚ.
