The Old Bushmills distillery is located in the small village of Bushmill in Antrim County in Northern Ireland and is one of the oldest whiskey distilleries in the world. Sir Thomas Philips started distilling whiskey in 1608, laying the foundation for the brand. Bushmills Whiskey has always been distilled three times with water from St. Columbs Brook and is characterized by its spiciness. The Bushmills brand includes the various maturity levels of single malt whiskeys that are stored in a number of casks, including bourbon, oloroso sherry and port wine casks. In terms of character, Bushmills Whiskey is characterized by a wonderful freshness and sweet-round spiciness at a young age. In addition to their characteristic clarity and freshness, mature vintages have a fascinating full-bodied character.
