Jameson is an Irish whiskey brand. The distillery of the same name was founded by John Jameson in Dublin in 1780.
Jameson Irish Whiskey is characterized by its characteristic mildness and is made from pure water and a mixture of malted and unmalted barley. The mildness of Jameson Irish Whiskey and its sweet notes result from the slow maturation in old American oak and sherry casks. Towards the end of the ripening process, whiskeys from more than 1,000 barrels are mixed together to maintain the special aromas of Jameson Irish Whiskey.
