Malibu is the world's best-selling rum-based liqueur with a natural coconut flavor. The taste of Malibu is like Barbados in a bottle: fresh coconut rum with a hint of sweetness. Only the finest rum from the West Indies Rum Distillery, Barbados is used for this liqueur. For the production, sugar cane is first harvested and processed from our own fields. This process creates molasses, a viscous and sugary substance. The next step is to add water and yeast to this molasses to initiate the process of converting sugar into alcohol. To obtain the tasty yet light rum base, the fermented molasses is triple distilled in specially designed stills. The resulting rum is refined with coconut flavors and sugar in a complex blending process.
