In 1790 Joseph Zwack created the Zwack Unicum for the Austro-Hungarian emperor, which soon became a Hungarian national drink. The production of over 40 herbs, the careful distillation and the months of aging in oak barrels give Unicum its exceptional bitter-sweet taste and unique character.
